Our Story

Christiane Can was born from lived experience.
After caring for a child with severe epilepsy, our family experienced firsthand how overwhelming, isolating, and unsupported this journey can be. Families are often left waiting, navigating complex systems, and carrying the full weight of care on their own.
We know what it feels like to sit in uncertainty. To adjust life around seizures. To keep going while carrying more than most people can see.
This foundation exists to change that.
Christiane Can is here to ensure that no family caring for a child with epilepsy has to go through it alone. We provide connection, real support, and practical help during the moments when it is needed most.
What We Believe

We believe epilepsy impacts the entire family, not just the individual.
We believe families need real support, not just information.
We believe human connection matters just as much as medical care.
We believe no parent should feel like they are carrying everything alone.
We believe siblings deserve to feel seen, supported, and understood.
We believe children living with epilepsy deserve joy, friendship, and normal experiences.
We believe people living with epilepsy are not defined by limitations. They can live fully and achieve greatly.
Why "ChristianeCan"

For many families, epilepsy comes with a long list of limits.
Things children are told not to do.
Places they are told not to go.
Experiences they are told to avoid.
Over time, those limits can begin to define how a child sees themselves.
“Christiane Can” was created to change that narrative.
Because children living with epilepsy are not defined by what they cannot do.
They are defined by their strength, their courage, and everything they still can become.
How We Show Up

We show up when families need it most.
In the hospital.
At home.
During moments of crisis.
And in moments of joy.
We meet families where they are: with presence, support, and understanding.
So they feel connected.
Supported.
And never alone.
